Hon. Aduge Okorodudu, the Chairman of Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, who was abducted barely 72 hours ago, has regained his freedom.

Okorodudu was released in the early hours of Tuesday, the Delta Police Command confirmed the news.

Although circumstances surrounding his release were still sketchy as of press time, a source claimed a ransom payment was made to his captors.

When contacted, the Delta State Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Onome Onowakpoyeya, however confirmed his release but could not give details.

She said, “it is true. He has been released but we are yet to get the details”.

It would be recalled the council chairman was seized along Mabiaku-Ajamimogha link road in Warri Government Reserved Area (GRA) after his driver was shot around 7:pm Saturday night.
