About 28 abducted students of the Bethel Baptist School, Damishi Kaduna have been released by their abductors after spending 20 days in captivity.
Recall that some armed bandits had invaded the school located along the Kaduna-Kachia highway in the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna, on July 5, abducting about 121 students.
Speaking on the incident, the proprietor, who is also the President, Kaduna Baptist Conference, Rev. Ishaya Jangado, had revealed that the armed bandits opened fire and overpowered security guards before taking over the school, abducting about 121 students boarding there overnight.
Recall also that two of the abducted students of the school were rescued by police operatives, four days ago while one student had escaped when they were asked to go and fetch firewood from a nearby forest.
Meanwhile, 28 others have been freed from captivity.
The Kaduna state chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Joseph Hayab confirmed the release of the students to journalists.
Hayab, however fell short of disclosing whether the N60m ransom earlier demanded by the bandits was paid to secure the release of the 28 students.
