As part of its efforts to ensure that none of its officials is serving in their states of origin, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has redeployed two Resident Electoral Commissioners (REC) as well as eight directorate staff.

The commission made this known in a press statement issued on Tuesday by its Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye.

Okoye said the move was part of a routine exercise by the commission, in line with its extant policy.

Among those affected are Dr Cyril Omorogbe who was posted Akwa Ibom State as the new INEC REC. Until his redeployment, he was the REC of Cross Rivers State.

Also, Dr. Alalibo Johnson Sinikiem who is current the of Edo state has been redeployed to Cross River state.
