Dame Zenith Bank Plc is set to mark the 2026 International Women’s Day with a high-level seminar in Lagos, reinforcing its commitment to women’s empowerment and purposeful leadership.
The annual International Women’s Day (IWD) Seminar will hold on Monday, March 9, 2026, at The Civic Centre, Victoria Island, bringing together women leaders and professionals from across business, governance, technology, the creative industries and social impact sectors.
Aligned with the global IWD theme, “Give to Gain,” this year’s event is themed “Take It, You Own It.” The theme underscores the principle that while institutions must intentionally create enabling environments and equitable systems, women must also step forward to claim opportunities, assert their value and lead with confidence.
The seminar builds on the success of previous editions, including the 2025 programme themed “Winning On All Fronts.” Over the years, Zenith Bank’s IWD initiatives have served as platforms for dynamic dialogue, shared learning and inspiration around gender equity, professional growth and inclusive opportunity.
Speaking ahead of the event, the Group Managing Director of the bank, Adaora Umeoji, who will deliver the welcome address, said International Women’s Day is a call to deliberate action.
“International Women’s Day is a reminder that progress requires intentionality. ‘Give to Gain’ speaks to the responsibility institutions have to create real opportunities, while our theme ‘Take It, You Own It’ challenges women to step forward boldly and lead,” she said.
She added that the bank remains deliberate about fostering environments where women are supported to grow, thrive and shape outcomes within the institution and across the communities it serves.
According to the organisers, the 2026 seminar will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, question-and-answer sessions and creative interludes designed to deepen conversations around leadership insight, professional empowerment, wellbeing and collaboration.
More than a commemorative gathering, the event is positioned as a convergence of influence and inspiration, aimed at catalysing meaningful action and sustainable impact.
Through its alignment with the global theme and its bold local focus, Zenith Bank says it remains resolute in building platforms that recognise, amplify and empower women’s potential, reinforcing the belief that when institutions give intentionally and women lead confidently, entire ecosystems rise.
