President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to arrive in Kebbi State this Saturday for a high-profile one-day official visit.
The visit is dual-purposed, as the President will officially commission several landmark infrastructure projects completed by Governor Nasir Idris’s administration and serve as the Special Guest of Honour at the grand finale of the historic 2026 Argungu Fishing Festival.
This was contained in a statement on Friday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga.
The Argungu festival, regarded as one of Africa’s most celebrated cultural events, is staged by the riverside of the historic Matan Fada in Argungu.
According to the statement, the cultural fiesta has been recognised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) as an Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) of Humanity.
Tinubu’s visit is expected to draw top government officials, traditional rulers, cultural enthusiasts and visitors to Kebbi, as the state hosts one of Nigeria’s most iconic cultural celebrations.
The President will return to Abuja after the visit.
