The Delta State Government has expressed deep sorrow following the sudden death of Mr. Sunny Kotor, Senior Special Assistant on Protocol, who reportedly slumped and died on Friday.
Kotor, widely known for his role as a Master of Ceremony at major state functions, was described as a key figure in the organisation and execution of official engagements across the state.
In a statement issued on Saturday in Warri, the Commissioner for Special Duties, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, said the news of his passing came as a devastating blow to the government and people of Delta State.
He described the late aide as “a profound loss; not only to his family, but to the Government and people of Delta State who benefited immensely from his professionalism, composure, and unmistakable presence at official engagements.”
Osuoza noted that Kotor’s contributions went beyond routine duties, emphasising his commitment to excellence and attention to detail.
“He brought dignity, structure, and excellence to every function he handled, leaving behind a standard that will be difficult to forget,” the statement added.
The commissioner further reflected on the fragility of life, describing Kotor’s sudden death as a sobering reminder of human mortality.
“Every passing is indeed a sobering reminder of how fragile and fleeting life can be,” he said.
He extended heartfelt condolences to the deceased’s family, colleagues, and associates, praying that they are granted the strength to bear the loss.
Kotor’s death has left a void within the state government, where he was regarded as a dependable and highly respected official.
