The African Democratic Congress (ADC) chairmanship candidate for the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Dr. Moses Paul, has formally raised concerns over the conduct of the February 21, 2026, FCT Area Council elections, alleging widespread voter intimidation and tactical disenfranchisement.
Speaking to journalists at a briefing in Abuja on Saturday, the candidate expressed dissatisfaction with the electoral climate, specifically pointing to the stringent restriction of movement as a primary factor for the lackluster voter turnout observed across several wards.
The candidate, who said he has lived in AMAC for about 40 years, noted that he had never witnessed such circumstances, describing the development as resembling “a state of emergency” over what he considered unwarranted.
“Despite the challenges, I remain confident of emerging victorious. The will of the people will prevail. Nigerians should resist intimidation and demand accountable leadership,” he said.
