Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has expressed optimism that he has all it takes to win the October 10, 2020, Gubernatorial Election in the state.

Akeredolu expressed this optimism shortly after emerging winner of the state’s All Progressives Congress (APC) Guber primary which took place on Monday.

Two aspirants, Ifeoluwa Oyedele and Olusegun Abraham had earlier stepped down for Akeredolu in the election.

The chairman of the election, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state announced the result after voting, sorting, and counting of the votes.

In his acceptance speech, Governor Akeredolu thanked the Chairman and the committee members for conducting the election in a free and fair manner.

He also appreciates President Muhammadu Buhari, the National Leader of the party, Bola Tinubu, and other leaders of the APC for their support. The Governor also commends the state leadership of APC as well as all the delegates.

Recall that one of the guber aspirants, Hon Isaac Kekemeke had faulted the process that led to the indirect primaries that produced the candidate of the party ahead of Governorship poll in October.

Kekemeke said that the committee led by Bello was not fair to many of the governorship aspirants.

“I said as much to Governor Yahaya Bello and his team.

“For me this process is unfair. It is aimed at producing a predetermined result because all we have heard about this election had been heard through government officials, Sources that are friendly or campaigning for the governor to return.”

Recall also that Akeredolu and his deputy Mr. Agboola Ajayi have been embroiled in an ongoing war of word. The deputy governor had lambasted Akeredolu that his political influence won the 2016 governorship election for Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
