The hope of ex-Super Eagle’s forward, Odion Ighalo to extend his adventure with Manchester United by a further three months appeared to have been dashed as his Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua has rejected the Premier League giant’s offer.
According to reports, Man United want to keep Ighalo until the end of August when the season in England is now expected to finish, but Shanghai has rejected their offer.
Recall that Ighalo linked up with the Red Devils on a six-month loan deal on transfer deadline day with the loan deal expected to expire at the end of this month.
Shenhua is willing to sell Ighalo for £20m, even though a permanent deal has not been discussed.
The 30-year-old is now expected to rejoin Shanghai Shenhua next week Monday for the start of the delayed Chinese Super League season.
Ighalo has been in a rich vein of form since he joined the English club scoring four goals in eight appearances.
