Nigerian celebrities, Bukola Elemide (Asa), Innocent Ujah Idibia (2Baba) and Ayo Makun (Ay Live) have joined other entertainers in the country to announced the postponement of their shows due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Asa announced the postponement of her music concert via her instagram page and promised to refund all that had purcahsed tickets.

“Due to the developing COVID-19, situation and for your health and safety,I am sad, to announce that I will be rescheduling my shows in London on March 29th, Lagos April 11th and Abuja April 13th.”

“All purchased tickets will be duly refunded and a new date will be announced as soon as possible”

Nigerian multi-platinum selling recording artiste, Asa planned to bring her Lucid Album Tour to Nigeria with “Asa Live In Lagos” scheduled to hold on April 11th, 2020, at the Eko Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Since its release in October 2019, the Lucid album which chronicles the 12-year journey from Asa’s critically acclaimed debut eponymous album till now, has enjoyed massive reception from her staunch fans and supporters.

In the meantime, some celebrities are keeping up with show time by live streaming events over the internet. For instance, Ayo Makun also known as A.Y comedian has decided to live stream his show on 12th April 2020 which is Easter Sunday.

“Ay live on Easter Sunday Special live online edition featuring performances from the comedians and giveaways to cushion the lockdown effects.

“Tune in live to hiptv, Ay comedian, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Youtube channel.”

“Time is at 7pm”

Also, Innocent Ujah Idibia, known by his stage name 2Baba, will try his first of its kinds extra E-concert

2Baba made this announcement on his instagram page.

“First of it’s kind extra special 2Baba E-concert.

“Join me on the 12th of April let’s support the fight against this corona nonsense stream live as you stay at home and have a wonderful evening with me and Trophy stout,” he said.

The first confirmed case of the pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 in Nigeria was announced on 27 February 2020, when an Italian citizen in Lagos tested positive for the virus, caused by SARS-CoV-2.

As of Wednesday, Nigeria has 276 confirmed cases of Coronavirus with 44 patients discharged and 6 deaths recorded.

Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari implemented a sweeping quarantine for three major states, Lagos, Abuja and Ogun. Some other states have also joined in a bid to slow the spread of the new coronavirus in Africa’s most populous country.
