Pupils, parents and staff dazzled on Thursday as Funke EarlyLights Academy put up a stellar show during the maiden edition of its Inter-House Sports Festival.
The event which commemorates the 5th year anniversary of the Academy underpins the school’s mission to raise all-round youngsters ready to face the world through its value based curriculum premised on character-education, Montessori based learning system and regular extra-curricular activities.

Speaking at the sport festival, the Academy’s Proprietress, Rev. (Mrs.) Funke Oladipupo while drawing life lessons from the event said “life race needs to be completed, whether you’re feeling out of breath or not,” saying the sporting event was to spur pupils early on towards picking up attributes like determination and grit needed to successfully compete in every human endeavor.

Relishing old memories, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Funke EarlyLights Academy, Rev. Pius Oladipupo said sports serve as “good break from intense academic activities” and gives children lasting “memory to relish all their days.

“This is an opportunity to showcase the uniqueness and edge this godly school has in our community. It’s a fulfilment of our commitment to build the total man: spirit, mind and body.”

He added that the Academy located at 3b, Boundary Road, by Santos 2nd Gate, Akowonjo-Lagos has recorded tremendous academic success stories, thanks to the combination of “Christian values of moral excellence, integrity, hardwork, dignity and self-esteem.”
According to Rev. Oladipupo who is also the Superintending Minister of the Omega Chapel Int’l Churches, the value addition has made the school a destination of choice among parents ready to “raise excellent kids who will not only take nations by surprise, but take over the nation.”
