Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi has suspended his Commissioner for Solid Minerals, Francis Orji.
The State Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Emmanuel Onwe, announced the development at Government House, Abakaliki, after a meeting of the State Executive Council on Thursday.
He said Mr Orji was sanctioned over acts capable of bringing embarrassment to the state government.
He said the Deputy Principal Secretary, Emmanuel Obasi, would act in place of the suspended commissioner for 30 days.
