Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has been officially named as the only state governor to accompany President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his historic State Visit to the United Kingdom.

The presidential delegation is scheduled to depart Abuja today, Tuesday, March 17, 2026, for a landmark two-day engagement at the invitation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

In a statement signed by the Zamfara Governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, it was revealed that Lawal will be part of the presidential delegation scheduled to depart Abuja on Tuesday.

According to the statement, the visit—taking place from March 18 to March 19, 2026—will see the Nigerian leader, the First Lady, and members of the entourage hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle.

“The purpose of the state visit, according to the presidency, is to strengthen bilateral relations and explore collaboration opportunities in immigration, trade, investment, and cultural exchange,” the statement read in part.

It added, “Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal will join President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s entourage for a historic visit to the United Kingdom on March 18 and 19, 2026.

“At Windsor Castle, President Tinubu, the First Lady, and their entourage will be invited by Their Majesties to view a special exhibition of Royal Collection items related to Nigeria. In the evening, the Royal Family will host a State Banquet in honour of the Nigerian guests.”

Other members of the presidential entourage include the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio; Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi; Minister of Solid Minerals, Dele Alake; Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris; Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Ojukwu; Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun; Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole; Minister of Culture and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa; Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani; Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher Musa; National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; and Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Mohammed Mohammed.
