Senator Ifeanyi Ubah representing Anambra South Senatorial District, has defected from the Young Progressives Party (YPP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ubah’s defection was brought on by irreconcilable differences in the YPP, according to a letter that Senate President Godswill Akpabio read during a brief plenary session on Thursday.

The letter went on to say that Ubah’s choice was in his constituents’ best interests.

It would be recalled that Senator Ubah, the chief executive officer of Capital Oil, in 2014 lost the gubernatorial election under the platform of the Labour Party, LP.

On 24 February 2019, the 52-year-old Nigerian politician was declared winner of the Anambra South Senatorial elections under the platform of the YPP.
