Renowned preacher and General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM), Dr Daniel Kolawole Olukoya, has warned prophets to shun giving false prophecies concerning elections in Nigeria.

His warning comes after many self-acclaimed prophets in the country predicted the winner of the February 25 presidential election.

Although Dr. Olukoya did not mention some of the prophets he noted that while some prophets predicted which political party’s candidate would win the presidential election, others gave different predictions of winners of the election while others predicted the candidates that will not win.

According to the man of God, all of the predictions by some of the prophets failed.

To this, Dr. Olukoya gave a warning to the so-called prophets to save themselves by shunning telling people what they did not hear from God.

He said the pulpit in God’s house – the church is not a ground for political campaigns but rather a ground of truth.

Dr. Olukoya was heard saying in a video, “You see what happened in Nigeria during these last elections, disgraced the religion of Christianity very well. This prophet said this person would win, and this would not win.

“‘If this one wins, I will become a herbalist, if this one wins, let them cut off my hand, if this one wins this, this one will die before his wish.

“All did not come to pass, and they call themselves prophets. Prophets of where? It is madness when you begin to say what God does not ask you to say. The pulpit in the house of God is the pillar and ground of truth. It is not for political campaigns,” he added.
