The Trade Union Congress, TUC is urging Nigerians to prepare to join them to storm the National Assembly over the government’s delay in constituting and inaugurating the various petrol subsidy removal technical committees.
TUC President, Festus Osifo at a briefing in Abuja, the nation’s capital says the timeliness of eight weeks for the technical committees is running out and Labour cannot continue to relax and listen to grammar from government, while Nigerians suffer in hardship.
The TUC President says amid the harsh economy, it is absurd for government officials and the legislators to be contemplating huge largesse for themselves.
The TUC says it supports State Governments for rejecting the National Social Register of the President Buhari administration, and calls for a more transparent process.
On the state of emergency on food security, the TUC argues that it is mere deception as there is nothing on ground to show that the government means its words.
The TUC President also took a swipe on the Federal Ministry of Education and other tertiary institutions for jumping to increase school fees to further increase the sufferings of Nigerians
The Labour Centre also calls on Nigerians to reject any form of electricity hike.
