Reno Omokri, a strong critic of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has berated the supporters of Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate, Peter Obi over their hatred towards other opposition presidential candidates.

The former aide to Goodluck Jonathan, in a tweet, on Tuesday, said “In their minds, if you supported another candidate during the elections, you must hate Tinubu and condemn anything he does. But that is not politics. That is hatred.”

Omokri hinted that most of the Obi movement lacked the political maturity to dive into the affairs of the country while noting that his recent show of support over Tinubu’s fuel subsidy removal led to allegations from the obidents accusing him of seeking appointments.

His tweet reads, “Sadly, many of Peter Obi’s supporters lack political maturity and emotional intelligence. If I praise Tinubu, they will attack me and say I have collected money from him or want appointments. These guys are better suited for war.

“Elections are over. The case is now in court. There is nothing we can do about it. Now, we must focus on the government. Who is the President for now? Tinubu. By law, even Peter Obi has to hang Tinubu’s photo in all his businesses. And from his ward to his Local Government to his State Government, they must all adorn Tinubu’s picture.

“Be objective. Rein in your propensity to insult. Support Nigeria. If Tinubu does well, encourage him. If he does wrong, discourage him by criticising and opposing him.

“Because, whether you like it or not, he is the driver of a car on which you are a passenger. If he crashes that car, you will crash too!”

It would be recalled that the PDP Chieftain had praised Tinubu on his recent appointments of the Chief of Staff and Secretary General of the Federation.

According to Omokri, the president balanced the two major offices in his administration with a Muslim and a Christian.

Omokri’s tweet at the time read, “I like how President Bola Tinubu balanced the two most important appointments in his government between Christians and Muslims, naming George Akume, a Christian Middle-Belter, as his Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and Femi Gbajabiamila, a Muslim Southwesterner, as his Chief of Staff.”
