Seun Kuti, son of legendary Afrobeats maestro, Fela Anikulapo Kuti on Tuesday, thanked Nigerians for their unwavering support during his stay in police detention.
The afrobeats star in a post on his Twitter handle expressed his gratitude to all those who stood by him, especially his wife.
He wrote, “I want to say a profound thanks to everyone who showed me all this love. All my friends that showed up! Thanks most especially to my beautiful wife @chefyeidekuti”.
Kuti was released from police custody after meeting his bail conditions. His lawyer Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika (SAN) confirmed his release around 7.30 pm on Tuesday.
He also confirmed Seun would be at the magistrate court tomorrow for the proceedings which was adjourned today. The purpose of the proceeding is to receive the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP)’s advice.
It would be recalled that the Inspector General of Police had ordered his arrest when the Afrobeats star was seen in a trending video allegedly assaulting a police officer on the Third mainland bridge.
