The entire commercial capital of Nigeria, Lagos was thrown into frenzy when the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC declared the Labour Party, LP presidential candidate, Peter Obi winner in the state in the ongoing election.
Obi who defeated his arch political rival in the ongoing presidential election, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, polled a total votes of 582,454 as against his opponent’s 572,606.
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP presidential candidate has a total of 75,750 votes while the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso scored a pantry Votes of 8,442.
An appraisal of the results, showed that Alimosho and Ojo local government areas gave Peter Obi the edge that catapulted him to victory.
At the Alimosho council area, the LP presidential candidate polled staggering votes of 71,327 as against Tinubu’s 62,909.
Also at Ojo local government area, Obi polled a total votes of 38, 859 as against the APC presidential candidate of 20,603.
Since the declaration of the results in the early hours of Monday morning, divergent views as monitored by The New Diplomat in network, have continued to trail the outcome of the election as Nigerians in diaspora expressed their interest in the ongoing democratic process.

David In Diaspora: I spoke to Peter Obi last night, and from what I could gather, he is in great spirits. Unlike previously when electoral malpractices and vote rigging were mere allegations. There is a surfeit of impeachable evidence this time around.
