No doubt the Sunday’s FIFA World Cup face-off would be battlefield between two Paris Saint-Germain, PSG stars, Lionel Messi of Argentina and France’s Kylian Mbappe who are key players in their Club and national teams as their goals have been crucial in helping each country reached the finals.

It would be recalled that France on Wednesday, defeated the first African nation to qualify for the FIFA World Cup semi-finals, Atlas Lions of Morocco,

France scored in the 5th and 79th minutes by Theo Hernandez’s strike and Randal Kolo Muani’s close-range goals which aided the 2-0 lead over Morocco after several attempts by Kylian Mbappé.

Kylian Mbappé remains one of the main players at the World Cup 2022 after France broke English and Moroccan hearts in the quarter-finals and semi-finals respectively.

Mbappe has only featured in two World Cups, but he already has nine World Cup goals for France.
He scored four, including one in the final, as France won the trophy in 2018. He currently has five in 2022, level with Argentina star Lionel Messi as the tournament’s top scorer.

While two goals from Julian Alvarez and one from Messi guided Argentina to a 3-0 win over Croatia in the first semi-final of the FIFA World Cup 2022 at the Lusail Stadium on Wednesday.

It was Messi’s fifth goal of the tournament (and his third assist), moving him just ahead of France’s Kylian Mbappé (five goals and two assists) for the tournament lead in the Golden Boot competition.

Messi is set to break another record in the finals. This was his 25th World Cup match and he joins Lothar Matthäus for all-time FIFA appearances.

It was the fifth time Argentina has played in a World Cup semifinal (defeating the USA in 1930, Belgium in 1986, Italy in 1990 and the Netherlands in 2014). And it is the sixth time it has advanced to a final. The last time Argentina won the World Cup was in 1986.

France’s glory in Russia in 2018 crowned them as world champions for a second time, 20 years on from their iconic first World Cup win in Paris in 1998.
