The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has unveiled plans on how his administration would generate $10 billion from proceeds of the privatisation of the nation’s three refineries upon assumption of office as the President of Nigeria in 2023.

Atiku who made this disclosure while addressing scores of PDP supporters at a campaign rally in Lagos, said the $10 billion will be used to empower of small and medium scale businesses (SMEs) in the country.

Atiku who listed the Warri, Port Harcourt and Kaduna refineries as those to be privatised, assured that he would follow the privatization through, if elected President.

“So, let me also promise you, if you elect me, we are going to restructure this country. What do we mean by restructuring? We will give states and local governments more powers and resources. It is up to you to hold them responsible,” he declared with a tone of finality.
