After two weeks in the United Kingdom for a routine medical check-up, President Muhammadu Buhari, Sunday returned to Abuja, the Special Assistant to the President On Digital Communications, Bashir Ahmad has announced.

Ahmad made the announcement of the president’s return to Nigeria in a tweet on Sunday night.

“Welcome back, Baba!” Ahmad tweeted tersely, along with pictures of Buhari alighting from an aircraft.

The President’s official jet reportedly touched down at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja around 8 pm with Usman Baba, Inspector-General Of Police (IGP); and Mohammed Bello, Minister Of The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) amongst those on the ground to welcome him.

It would be recalled that Buhari left for London on October 31 after attending the Conference and Retreat for Senior Police Officers in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

While in the UK, the president had met with King Charles III — the first meeting between the duo since the monarch ascended the throne.
