The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has declared that he has moved on from the crisis rocking the party.
Atiku said he is no longer interested in the leadership crisis of the party, adding that he remains committed to campaign activities.
Atiku made this known during an interview with Voice of America, VOA Hausa.
The presidential candidate also declared support for the National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu, saying that it is impossible for the party to change leadership.
He said, “We are yet to resolve the matter. But we have moved on, I don’t have any worries about that anymore.
“And at this junction, it’s improper to talk about leadership change in the party while elections are fast approaching,” Atiku added.
The New Diplomat had reported that Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state and his counterparts in Benue, Enugu, Abia and Oyo States; Samuel Ortom, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Okezie Ikpeazu and Seyi Makinde, respectively, had fallen out with Atiku for turning deaf ears to the calls for the resignation of Ayu.
Wike and his allies vowed not to work for Atiku due to northern dominance in key positions in the party.
Efforts by stakeholders of the party to broker a truce among the waring parties have proved abortive as series of meetings with Wike continued to hit the brickwalls.
