As the September 28 date for the commencement of full-blown political campaigns draws near, the entire Presidents-General of the 24 Urhobo Kingdoms in Delta Central, have expressed their satisfaction with the qualities of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Senatorial candidate of Delta Central, Chief Ede Dafinone to represent the Urhobo people at the Senate in 2023.

This was the conclusion of the Presidents-General when the APC Senatorial candidate, Ede Dafinone, paid them a consultation visit at the Uvwie Town Hall in Effurun on Wednesday, September 14, 2022.

Speaking on behalf of the Kingdom President Generals, the Chairman of the presidents-general at the occasion, Chief Godwin Notoma also directed them all to stand firm ahead of the general elections, stressing that Urhobo’s best candidate must emerge a winner.

“You are eminently qualified, it shall be well with you, what you find you shall get, though the campaign has not started.

“I hereby urge all the kingdoms’ Presidents-General to stand firm ahead of the election because Urhobo will present he whom the cap fits”, Chief Natoma said.

Earlier, the APC Delta Central Senatorial Candidate, Chief Dafinone thanked the Presidents-General of the 24 kingdoms for allowing him to present himself just as he sought their blessings and supports for the senatorial seat come the 2023 general election.

Dafinone stressed that he is the best candidate to represent the Urhobo people as Senator at the Red Chamber of the National Assembly in 2023, adding that he is not only an internationally-recognized chartered accountant but a successful industrialist in both the public and private sectors.

“I believe that I am the best candidate to represent Delta Central and I seek your support and vote to represent the people of Delta Central in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria come 2023.

“I am an internationally-recognized accountant from a globally recognized family of chartered accountants, economists and an industrialist with achievements in both the private and public sectors with a clear commitment to Environmental, Sustainable and Gender goals.

“Over the last 40 years, I have worked in both the private and public sectors and have recorded significant achievements and successes to date. I believe that my background and experience make me stand out as the best candidate to represent Delta Central in the Senate in the next Senate”, he said.

Speaking further, Dafinone emphasized that his vision for the Urhobo Nation is to ensure that there is a conducive atmosphere for investment that will attract economic growth and development of the Senatorial district.

“My vision for Urhobo Nation is to enable its people to create the environment and drive the process of creating an oasis of peace and long-term prosperity and ensure that sound economic opportunities are brought to the district.

“This will also encourage the education system to ensure that our children can be empowered to make the best out of their lives and seize the opportunities that will arise when the business comes to the district.

“Also it is my vision to encourage those who wish to use our resources and site their businesses here in Delta Central to treat the land and resources with respect”.

“I believe I am the right person with the right vision, experience and skill set to assure the people of Delta Central with the enabling environment that will bring about the prosperity we deserve. I, therefore, ask for your support prayers and votes in my quest to serve as the Senator for the Delta Central Senatorial district come 2023”, Dafinone added.

Among the kingdom presidents-general present at the consultative meeting include; Chief G.J Notoma Chairman, Rev Canon David Otoma Vice Chairman,
Bright Adgogbe Secretary and Chief Julius Akpodiete Financial Secretary.

Others are Chief Daniel Ojo Treasurer, Chief Abovi H Erute Spokesman, Prof Arthur Ekpekpo Member, Chief Benson O Nadakara, Chief Patrick Esiri, Chief Monday Arawore, Chief Wilson Umukoro, and many other dignitaries too numerous to mention.
