The Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Allied and Education Institutions (NASU) on Saturday announced their decision to suspend their strike actions.

The announcement was made after a brief meeting with the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu in Abuja.

The suspension which is expected to take effect from Wednesday, will put an end to the five month industrial action by SSANU and NASU.

Though the two unions have called off their strike, activities in public universities are expected to remain limited as ASUU remains on strike.
