The Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on the Environment and Water Resources, Joe Igbokwe, has deleted his post hinting that Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state met with the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in France.
The APC Chieftain deleted the post just hours after reports trended that Wike, a presidential aspirant during the recently concluded primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Tinubu are engaging in some form of rapprochement to form alliance ahead of the 2023 polls.
Igbokwe in a Facebook post on Thursday had said, “While they are on Social Media abusing everybody Gov Wike goes to France to meet Asiwaju. Abuse, calling names, hate and bigotry are no strategy.
“They hated and abused PMB since 2015 and now they have transferred the aggression to Asiwaju. We wait and see.”
Moments after the post went viral, Igbokwe deleted it, as he was challenged by some social media users to present pictorial evidence that the meeting took place.
Though he made the claim, there has been no official confirmation of the meeting from both the Tinubu and Wike’s camps.
It is also worthy to note that Tinubu departed Nigeria on Monday shortly after he held a closed-door meeting with the President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Also, on Tuesday Wike disclosed that he was in Turkey, alongside his Abia counterpart, Okezie Ikpeazu, for a “much needed vacation.”
