Hours after emerging has the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu paid a courtesy visit to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Thursday.
It was gathered that Tinubu went to the presidential villa to pay a ‘thank you’ visit to President Muhammadu Buhari for his role during the just concluded special national convention of the APC.
Tinubu, who was accompanied by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state had earlier visited the President at his residence in the Presidential Villa and afterwards decided to make a surprise call on the VP.
It was also gathered that at the time Tinubu arrived, the VP was meeting with Senator Kabiru Gaya; former Defence Minister, Major General Dan Ali (retd), and other associates.
The VP received Tinubu alongside his other guests and they exchanged pleasantries.
The visit came shortly after Osinbajo, in a statement had congratulated Tinubu on his victory at the primary election of the party.
Osibanjo, who also contested the presidential ticket of the APC, said Tinubu had at different times shown passion, patriotism, courage and determination in the cause of nation-building, qualities which he said stood him out to emerged as the flagbearer of the party.
It would be recalled that at the APC presidential primary, which started on Tuesday and was rounded off on Wednesday, Tinubu polled 1,271 votes out the total 2,260 votes cast to clinch the party’s presidential ticket.
