President Muhammadu Buhari, has supported the rotation of power to the southern region of Nigeria in the forthcoming 2023 presidential election.
The President made this declaration during a dinner with the aspirants contesting under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Saturday night.
Buhari, during the meeting also directed all northern aspirants in the party to withdraw their presidential bid before the forthcoming primary election scheduled for June 6-7.
This is coming on the heels of the resolution of the Northern governors that the next president should emerge from the South.
The Northern Governors during a meeting on Saturday resolved that power should be rotated to the South as Buhari, a northerner would have completed the maximum number of years, eight years, in power by 2023.
Already, Governor Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa state had earlier announced his decision to withdraw from the presidential race.
More to come soon…
