In what can be likened to a narrow escape, former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha has completed the presidential screening of the All-Progressives Congress (APC).

There had been doubts that the Senator would be present for the screening after he was arrested and detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission last week Tuesday.

However, a reprieve came his way after a Federal High Court in Abuja granted him bail on Tuesday morning in the sum of N500 million and a surety in like sum.

After his screening, he thanked his supporters for standing by him and insisted that Nigeria needs a detribalised leader like him to pilot the affairs of the nation.

On his EFCC case, he promised to address the media in the coming days.

It would be recalled that Okorocha was alleged to have laundered funds to the tune of N2.9 billion while serving as governor of Imo State.

Okorocha was arraigned alongside Anyim Nyerere Chinenye, Naphtali International Limited, Perfect Finish Multi Projects Limited, Consolid Projects Consulting Limited, Pramif International Limited, and Legend World Concepts Limited as 2nd to 7th defendants respectively.

Meanwhile, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Gov. Yahaya Bello, Senate President Ahmad Lawan, former House Speaker Dimeji Bankole, Gov. Kayode Fayemi, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu were among those screened on Tuesday.
