A former member of the House of Representatives, Prince Ned Nwoko has revealed why he is seeking the Delta North Senatorial ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 election.

Nwoko who spoke at Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State disclosed that his ambition is borne out of a quest to take Anioma to an enviable height.

The aspirant recalled that during his stint in the House of Representatives between 1999 and 2003, he brought notable developments to his constituency of Oshimili/Aniocha, adding that his victory will mean marching forward for the people of Delta North.

Accompanied by Ambassador Dele Omenogor, former House of Representatives member, Mr. Pascal Adigwe, and others, the Senatorial hopeful said Delta North will regain its lost glory if he is given the chance.

He said he is not into politics to acquire wealth, but strictly to attract development to his people and area.

He kicked against money politics, advising the electorates to support politicians that have the interest of the area at heart.

He said that he will not be a lawmaker and at the same time a contractor, promising that he will ensure that his qualified constituents execute any contract that comes up so that they can have a sense of belonging.

Nwoko said that 23 years of democracy was enough for the people to know him, going by his records at the House of Representatives.

Responding, the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Aniocha South Local Government Area, Prince Mike Okwufulueze described Nwoko as a man well known to the people of Aniocha South.

He said that the people were aware of Nwoko’s philanthropic gestures, and his efforts in the Paris Club Refund.

He commended Nwoko for establishing the Sports University, Idumuje-Ugboko, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State.
