The Federal High Court in Abuja has rescheduled judgement in a suit seeking to sack Cross Rivers Governor, Ben Ayade and his Deputy, Ivara Esu over their defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The court was billed to make a judgement on the law application on Friday, March 25, however checks show that presiding Justice Taiwo Taiwo has postponed judgement in the matter to April 6.
Meanwhile, it remains unclear while the judgement was rescheduled for April 6.
Recall that in a suit marked: FHC/ABI/CS/975/2021, the PDP is seeking an order sacking Ayade, his deputy and 20 other state legislators who dumped the party for APC in May 2021.
On March 21, Justice Taiwo granted the order to sack the Cross River State House of Assembly Speaker and 17 of his colleagues alongside two members of the House of Representatives for defecting to the APC, when “there (were) no justifiable reasons” for their action.
The judgement came shortly after Justice Inyang Ekwo had sacked the Ebonyi State governor, Dave Umahi for ditching the PDP for the APC.
More to come soon…
