Omo-Agege Felicitates With Oldest Nigerian Monarch At 105

As His Royal Majesty, Ovie Richard Ogbon Ogoni-Oghoro 1 of Olomu kingdom, celebrates his 105th birthday, the Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, has congratulated the centenarian.

Omo-Agege’s congratulatory message which was contained in a statement signed by Mr. Yomi Odunuga, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the DSP, described the traditional ruler, as a father, role model and a bridge builder, lauding him for his great contribution to peace, harmony and prosperity in Olomu kingdom, Delta State and Nigeria in general.

According to Omo-Agege, HRM Ogoni I, is a quintessential traditional ruler whose wise counsel has encouraged nation- building, adding that his forthrightness and maturity has ensured stability, development and progress in Olomu kingdom, Urhobo and Delte State.

He said: “I join other well-wishers to congratulate you and thank you immensely for your service to your people and the entire country and pray that God grant you more grace on the throne in the years to come.
“As a father, role model and a bridge builder, you are a testament to the biblical text that ‘When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice’.
“Without a doubt, you are a shining example to our youths and an enigma to behold. I pray that the Almighty God will grant you good health and long life to continue serving your people.”
Omo-Agege further eulogised the oldest monarch in Nigeria for his “passion for promoting … good education, entrepreneurship and good neighbourliness among the youths.”
