There is palpable tension in Lagos as the State Police Command embarked on a show of force, apparently aimed at dissuading youths on the planned #EndSARS memorial protest scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, October 20, 2021.

Several police vans and patrols vehicles have been sighted in many parts of Lagos, causing panic among the populace.

Nigerian youths have announced plans to hold a procession to mark the one-year anniversary of the nationwide #EndSARS protest and also in honour of those who lost their lives during the protest on October 20, 2020.

According to the organisers, the procession will take place at the Lekki tollgate from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

This is coming on the heels of the stern warning issued to youths by the Lagos State Police Command’s spokesman, Adekunle Ajisebutu, that the command would not entertain any form of protest in the state.
