A former President of the United States of America(USA), Bill Clinton is currently receiving medical care at the University of California Irvine Medical Center’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The 75-year-old is said to be receiving treatment on a urinary tract infection.

According to the former president’s physicians, Alpesh Amin and Lisa Bardack, Clinton was hospitalized for close monitoring on the urinary tract infection which has spread to his bloodstream.

The doctor however noted that the former President is responding well to treatment and is in good spirit.

“He was admitted to the ICU for close monitoring and administered IV antibiotics and fluids. He remains at the hospital for continuous monitoring.”After two days of treatment, his white blood cell count is trending down and he is responding to antibiotics well. We hope to have him go home soon,” Amin and Bardack said in a joint statement.

Also, Clinton’s spokesperson, Angel Urena who took his official twitter handle said his principal was hospitalized for a “non-COVID-19 infection.”

“He is on the mend, in good spirits, and incredibly thankful to the doctors, nurses and staff providing him with excellent care. He’s up and about, joking and charming the hospital staff,” Urena tweeted.

Recall that Clinton had quadruple bypass heart surgery in 2004 and had two stents inserted to open one artery in 2010.
