President Muhammadu Buhari is set to jet out to New York, United States of America (USA) on Sunday.

During the working visit, Buhari will participate at the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

This disclosure was made by the Special Adviser to the President on media and publicity, Femi Adesina.

The president will be accompanied to New York by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama; Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN); and Minister of State for Environment, Sharon Ikeazor.

Also on the President’s delegation are: National Security Adviser, Maj-Gen. Babagana Monguno (retd); Director-General, National Intelligence Agency, Amb. Ahmed Rufai Abubakar; Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs, Mrs Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire.

President Buhari is expected back in the country on Sunday, September 26.

Recall that the New Diplomat had exclusively reported that Buhari, will in person address the UN general debate which started on 14th September, 2021.

The theme for the 76th session is “Building Resilience through hope to recover from COVID-19, rebuild sustainably, respond to the needs of the planet, respect the rights of people, and revitalise the United Nations.”

During the course of the session, Bihari, alongside other world leaders will address matters of international peace and security including debate on matters of human rights, international law, and cooperation in economic, social, cultural, educational, and health fields.
