Less than 24 hours after an experience in Zaria, bandits suspected to be kidnappers have invaded Rido Gbagyi in Maraban Rido community of Chikun local government area of Kaduna State Tuesday night and abducted five persons after killing one other person identified as Irrimiya Yohanna, a Boys Brigade officer.

Similar to the Zaria incident, the bandits operated unchallenged for over an hour.

An eye witness who participated in the burial of the killed Boys Brigade Officer recalled that when the bandits came, they started shooting sporadically to scare people and went for their targets unchallenged.

Those abducted include Pastor Peter Chukwuemeka, Mr Bobai Theophilus, Mr Joseph (A driver with Nigerian Breweries), Rev. Daniel Usman and Barmani Yakubu while Yusuf Tanko and one other sustained bullet wounds..

When contacted, the state Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) ASP Muhammed Jalige promised to make enquiries and get back. However, Jalinge did not do so as at the time of filing this report.
