The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has vowed to bring to justice the killers of Olajide Sowore, younger brother to human rights’ activist.

The governor made this known in a statement on Saturday, while commiserating with the family of Sowore, on the death of his younger brother.

Governor Obaseki who assured that the state government will work with relevant security agencies to investigate the unfortunate incident, said efforts will be intensified to bring the culprits to book.

“I commiserate with the Sowore family and the Publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, over the death of his brother, Olajide Sowore.

“The news of Olajide’s death is heartbreaking and we will make all efforts to bring the perpetrators of the dastardly act to justice.

“On behalf of the people and Government of Edo State, I condole with the Sowore family and pray that God will grant all the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,” the Governor wrote.

In a tribute to Olajide who was reportedly killed by herdsmen in the Okada area of Edo State on Saturday, Sowore noted that his younger brother was an out-of-the-box thinker who created his own genre of music.

Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen had earlier shot dead Felix at Okada area in the Ovia North-East Local government area of Edo State on Saturday morning.

The death of Olajide who was a student of Pharmacy at the Igbinedion University before the unfortunate incident, threw the family into mourning.

The incident was confirmed by Okada Divisional Police Officer, noting that Felix was murdered in cold blood by bloodthirsty herdsmen.
