Trump and us, by Hakeem Baba-Ahmed Baba-Ahmed

By Hakeem Baba-Ahmed I admit entertaining some doubt over the authenticity of US President Trump’s first tweet announcing that he had set in motion the process of classifying Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern, again. Jamaican track and field legend Usain Bolt has announced the birth of his twin sons with his wife Kasi Bennett on Father’s Day.

Usain Bolt announced the news on Sunday June 20, 2021 in an Instagram post. The post depicted a family photo, with Bolt sitting next to his wife Kasi Bennett and their first child Olympia Lightning with the newborn twins.

Like their sister, the boys have been given equally fitting names – Thunder and Saint Leo. Bolt and his partner Kasi Bennett welcomed their first child Olympia Lightning together last year.

It would be recalled that the 34-year-old has retired from participating in sports in 2017 and his position is up for grabs in this year’s Tokyo Olympic Games, having retired. This year’s competition will be the first Olympics since 2000 in which the sprinter won’t be seen on the track.

It was reported in March that Bolt is looking forward to being a spectator of the games as opposed to competing.

In his words: “I’m definitely excited to be in the stands,” he said. “I’ve never got an opportunity to really watch Olympic Games, to either go (watch) swimming, the soccer or just to see all the events. So I’m excited to actually get the chance to really experience Olympics like a true fan.”

Read some congratulatory messages to birth of his twins:

Lightning and Thunder ? Gonna be a storm around here. Congratulations

Listen, when your name is Bolt and you’re the fastest man alive, the universe is telling you to do all the cool things with the baby names.
