Reports suggest Lagosians should anticipate traffic logjam across the Lagos city centres today as President Muhammadu Buhari is set to embark on a one-day presidential visit to the state, Thursday.
While on the visit, reportedly scheduled for around 2.30pm, the President would inaugurate the Mobolaji Junction Railway Station at Ebutte Meta, as well as visit the Apapa port.
Amid the ongoing heavy security deployment in the state, traffic reports indicate there is possibility of heavy traffic due to road blockade/closure while the Presidential convoy is in transit.
Lagos Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who is expected to receive the president would also hand over some equipment to the Nigerian police at the Police College, Ikeja, early Thursday, before Buhari’s arrival.
The Federal Government had in April 2021 named the Ebute Meta train station, on the Lagos-Ibadan train service after the first Lagos state governor, Brigadier Mobolaji Johnson.
Johnson, who was military governor of Lagos between May 1967 and July 1975 died 30 October 2019.
