Nigeria’s current economic challenges are surmountable with patriotic commitment of capable men and women.
This was the verdict of the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege on Tuesday while commending Honourable Stella Okotete, over her role in boosting the Nigerian Export-Import Bank’s (NEXIM) relevance to the Federal Government’s economic priorities
In a birthday felicitation message to Stella Okotete, Omo-Agege declared:
“NEXIM was established in 1991 as an export credit agency and its current statutory functions have become even more significant in recent years as government and the private sector ameliorate challenges caused by dwindling oil revenue by focusing greater attention on increased exports.
“Without doubt, the efforts of NEXIM, including that of its Business Development department being headed by Honourable Okotete over the past four years, has continued to enhance export diversification in line with the Federal Government’s trade policy and best practice.
“As she celebrates her birthday today, we rejoice with Honourable Stella Okotete, not just as an accomplished Urhobo daughter or as a great Niger Deltan but also as an uncommon patriot whose commitment and dedication to duty is making positive impact on Nigerian businesses, citizens’ lives, and the government’s agenda for economic development.
“Her long interest in Millennium Development Goals advocacy and attention for children’s issues, civil right, humanitarian relief and other causes have continued to endear her to many and I join all her family members, associates and admirers in wishing Honourable Okotete a happy birthday as well and many more productive years ahead,” Omo-Agege stated.
