The Chairman of Traditional Rulers of Oil Producing Communities of Nigeria (TROMPCON), Delta State Chapter, HRM. (Dr.) Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso (JP) OON, Abe 1, the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, has apealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to inaugurate the board of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) without further delay.

The Uvwie monarch, who made the call in his key note address during the meeting of TROMPCON, Delta State Chapter, at his palace in Effurun, stressed that the call was necessitated by the need to reduce tension in the Niger Delta region on the issue.

While supporting the forensic audit of NDDC, he urged President Buhari to be fair to all parties involved, just as he condemned the show of shame at the National Assembly during the public hearing for the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB).

“The PIB public hearing has clearly shown the level of acceptance of the development of this region by some people.

He also advised that, “We should dialogue to arrive at reasonable and acceptable figure, violence would not solve problems. We advise our people representing us at this laudable task to be more articulate and patient to achieve their good demands for the Niger Delta Region.”
