An O’odua activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Igboho, has on Wednesday attacked one of the national leaders of All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, and Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, among other Southwest leaders, over their role in the security situation in the Yoruba nation.
Ighoho, whose quit notice to herders has sparked controversy among ethnic and political leaders in the country, described Tinubu and Makinde as “Fulani Slaves,” over their alleged lukewarm approach to the crisis.
Whereas the Ooni of Ife recently met with President Muhammadu Buhari, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja in search of solution to the incessant herders-farmers’ crisis, Igboho questioned the stance of the Yoruba paramount monarch on the insecurity ravaging the Southwest.
In an online interview Wednesday, Igboho also called out other leaders in the region.
According to him, some Yoruba leaders have shown cowardice by not standing up to forthrightly condemn the alleged activities of the herders.
In his words, “I am not concerned about the police. The struggle is about Yoruba agenda as it concerns security situation in our land and I trust Yoruba people for support. People are afraid because of the atrocities of the herders. We also pray that our leaders support us irrespective of their concerns of being arrested. They should be able to talk to President Muhammadu Buhari on security in Yoruba land. When Ooni visited Buhari, the President received him by standing up, but he said something I don’t like. That is why the Alaafin called me. He wants to tackle what Ooni said… Ooni should be able to tell Buhari about what the Yoruba nation wants. But he has collected dollars from Buhari. He has however called me, but I don’t want to see him. Only Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi II, is supporting us and he has written a letter to the President. Ooni disappointed me.
“Also, the Oluwo (Oba Akanbi), wears turban and started referring himself as an Emir. Our people should call him to order and tell him to stop what he is doing. Makinde also is a slave to the herders because of second term ambition. Our leaders are lazy and slaves to Fulanis. They visited Abuja to collect money. I am annoyed. I am a full Yoruba man and I will not allow Fulani people to enslave me. We do not look or behave alike in any way. The herders must go.”

It would be recalled that Igboho has been in the news recently over his activism and for sending the Fulani herders away from the Yoruba land, on the allegations that they are the perpetrators of the atrocities in the zone.
