Obieze Nestor, a Nigerian businessman, who was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Dubai, for allegedly flaunting dollars on his social media accounts, has been reported dead in the Dubai police custody.

Nestor who claimed to be Chief Executive Officer of Obieze Oil and Gas and Obieze Motors Nigeria Limited, was reportedly arrested on 12th of January, 2021 by the Dubai police. He was allegedly arrested for flaunting dollars on his account on Instagram.

On January 8, he had posted a video on Instagram where he was seen flaunting dollars.

He was reported to have died during an interrogation session on January 12. However, the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) and Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs were yet to confirm the incident as of the time of this report. But a source told journalists that, Nestor died after being arrested and has been deposited at the morgue.

In his words, “After he posted the video, the police stormed his house and arrested him. They didn’t allow anyone to visit him, not even his lawyer or his girlfriend had access to him. Nestor was arrested by the CID, Dubai and I believe he was tortured during interrogation. He died in police custody and has been deposited in the mortuary.”

It would be recalled that Prince Nestor who was also the CEO of Marathon Music, was arrested by the Dubai Police, who similarly arrested the popular Instagram influencer, Ramon Olorunwa Abbas, mostly called Hushpuppi.
