Liverpool’s Mo Salah has been named the Fans’ Footballer of the Year, with Mason Mount topping the poll of Chelsea players following almost 90,000 votes across the country.

While the Egyptian forward claimed the overall top spot, midfielder Mount landed the most votes among Frank Lampard’s squad.

Reece James was the second highest Chelsea player, followed by Christian Pulisic and Mateo Kovacic.

While Frank Lampard’s young team sealed fourth position last season, Liverpool won their first title in 30 years. It initially looked like a formality but Jurgen Klopp’s team ended up having to wait longer than any other team in history to do so.

The Reds are back on top this season but Chelsea, for whom Mount has again been integral, are in the chasing pack.

Off the field Marcus Rashford led calls for change from the government when it came to free school meals for the under-privileged.

There have been plenty of standout moments and we asked our journalists and you the fans to have your say on who has been the Footballer of the Year for 2020.

And while there can be only one overall winner, we have club specific triumphs too, thanks to our network of more than 100 reporters and the votes of you, the fans, via an online poll.

The top five: 1 Mo Salah (Liverpool), 2 Jack Grealish (Aston Villa), 3 Marcus Rashford (Man Utd), 4 Kevin De Bruyne (Man City), 5 Jordan Henderson (Liverpool).
