Cross River State governor, Ben Ayade said the passing of the State Commissioner of Police, Abudukadir Jimoh, is great loss and shocking reality.

Ayade who was speaking through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Christian Ita, described Jimoh as “a brave and courageous officer who was a central figure in the fight against kidnapping and other crimes in the state.”

Jimoh reportedly died of Covid-19 complications on Friday at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, UCTH.

Ayade said “late Jimoh’s skills, dexterity intellect and expertise will be sorely missed as we unite to confront the security challenges in the country. I have indeed lost a true friend and a brother.

The Cross River State Traditional Rulers Council chairman, HRH Entinyin Etim Okon Edet who was working closely with the CP over insecurity said, “we have been working together since he came. It’s so painful he passed on like that. He had done his best with sincerity of purpose. I pray the family be consoled.”

The Cross River State Command PPRO did not pick her calls while the Zonal DIG was unreachable as his Zonal PPRO was in Enugu for national Police Public Relations Officers conference.
