Political leaders across the globe have begun congratulating the United States Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump over his victory at the presidential polls in the United States of America (USA).

Trump made a stunning political comeback after emerging the clear winner in a tense tussle with his rival, Vice President Kamala Harris.

Below are some of the reactions of political leaders across the world.

*Türkiye*

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday sent his congratulations to Trump on his re-election.

Erdogan, in a statement posted on his official X handle, said: “I congratulate my friend Donald Trump on his re-election as President of the United States after a hard-fought presidential race.

“In this new period that will begin with the American people’s choice, I hope that Türkiye-US relations will strengthen and that regional and global crises and conflicts—especially the Palestinian issue and the Russia-Ukraine war—will come to an end. I believe that greater efforts will be made toward creating a more just world.”

*Israel*

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has also felicitated with Trump on his electoral victory.

Taking to his X handle Netanyahu stated: “Your historic return to the White House offers a new beginning for America and a powerful recommitment to the great alliance between Israel and America.”

*France*

French President Emmanuel Macron also congratulated “President Donald Trump”, saying he was ready to work with the US vote frontrunner “with respect and ambition” like “we managed to do for four years”.

In a post on X, Macron said that the relationship with Trump, who is leading the US presidential vote, would “take account of your convictions, and mine”, adding: “For more peace and prosperity.”

*Ukraine*

President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy in a congratulatory post on his official. X handle said: “I appreciate President Trump’s commitment to the ‘peace through strength’ approach in global affairs. This is exactly the principle that can practically bring just peace in Ukraine closer.”

*United Kingdom*

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, in a press statement, congratulated Trump, saying he is looking “forward to working with you in the years ahead. As the closest of allies, we stand shoulder to shoulder in defence of our shared values of freedom, democracy and enterprise.”

*China*

Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Beijing will continue to handle relations with the US based on mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation.

*Hungary*

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, in his congratulatory post on X, said Trump’s victory is “the biggest comeback” in US political history.

“Congratulations to President Donald Trump on his enormous win. A much-needed victory for the World!” Orban posted on X.

*India*

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a statement posted on his official X handle, offered his congratulations to the Republican nominee as the individual drew nearer to securing victory.

He said: “Heartiest congratulations, my friend @realDonaldTrump, on your historic election victory.”

*El Salvador*

Also, President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador extended his congratulations to Donald Trump, stating, “May God bless and guide you.”

*Italy*

“GoDonaldGo,” Italy’s deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini said wishing good luck with his work.

*NATO*

The Western bloc’s military force NATO chief Mark Rutte has said Trump’s leadership will “again” be key to keeping the Alliance strong.

I look forward to working with him again to advance peace through strength through NATO”, he said in a post on X.
