  • Advises Minister To Formally Join APC

By Kolawole Ojebisi

The lawmaker representing Ideato North/Ideato South Imo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Ikenga Ugochinyere has warned President Tinubu to be wary of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) , Nyesom Wike, .

Explaining the reason for his warning, Ugochinyere stressed that history has shown that Wike is incapable of showing unalloyed loyalty to anyone adding that the minister’s plans are self-serving

He noted that Wike would expose all Tinubu’s secrets he is privy to when their relationship turns sour

The lawmaker spoke during a world press conference held on Sunday evening in Akokwa, Imo State,

He said, “When things go south between you two, he will expose your secrets. History has shown his lack of loyalty to anyone but himself.”

Ugochinyere, who is a spokesman of coalition of federal lawmakers from the opposition, also criticised Wike, accusing him of undermining the PDP after losing the presidential primaries to Atiku Abubakar and urged him to join the ruling APC formally.

“If you want to join the APC, join the APC. But stop trying to destroy our party,” Ugochinyere said. “Wike, Okezie Ikpeazu, Samuel Ortom, and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, who all lost their elections, are bent on dismantling the legacy built by our founding fathers.”

He also did not spare the acting National Chairman of the PDP, Umar Damagum National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, of betraying the founding ideals of the party,.

The lawmaker lamented that the PDP, a party that once ruled the country for 16 years, , is now plagued by indecision and alleged sabotage.

“They have perfected a plan to ensure the NEC meeting will not happen, stalling the selection of a chairman from the North Central, where the position is supposed to come from,” Ugochinyere claimed.

“They want Damagum to remain in office until 2027 to impose a weak presidential candidate on us.”

Ugochinyere also alleged that Damagum and Anyanwu were fostering an alliance with Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, whom he accused of working against the PDP’s interests.

“You have a National Chairman and Secretary who are constantly in Wike’s bedroom—a minister in the APC government,” he said. “While Nigeria faces serious crises, our supposed opposition leaders are colluding with the ruling party. This is a betrayal of the trust of PDP supporters.” the lawmaker added.
