Tiwa reminded her of how she and her team reached out to a lot of Nigerians for her “Black Is King project”.

She said: “I want to use my platform to call Beyonce and the whole team that reached out to a lot of Nigerians; Nigerian artistes, producers, video directors, dancers, creatives.

“I’m calling on Beyonce and her team the same way they used their platform to elevate and show the world that Black Is King and how beautiful Afrobeat and Africa and our culture is. Because the same country that birth this genre is on fire right now. Where these creative are from is on fire. So I’m calling on Beyoncé and the whole team and telling them that you cannot ignore this, that you cannot be quiet. Because we all celebrated the Black Is King.

“I personally was so proud to be part of the project. I know people are going to hate me, I know I’m going to get backlash from this, there’s even a possibility that I could get blacklisted for this.”

The Nigerian music star also called on organizations that could help out by renovating police and army barracks while also donating uniforms and body cams for the officers.

Nigerians however reacted to the video on social media in a disappointing thread with many stating that it shows she doesn’t care.

We don’t need to call on Beyonce and other celebrities because the world is already watching. You’re either for us or against us, it won’t stop this movement to #EndSARS
Definitely our efforts and voices won’t be in vain. This Generation will always make a difference #EndsSARS.@Zataara_

Beyonce brought this upon herself the moment she wanted to rep Africa, she should have stopped at representing black Americans,
But shalaye. Now she’s ignoring  #EndSARS_@HarrisonJNR

Dear @Beyonce
When you released Lion King, many Nigerians saw it a moment of unity for all black people. A true “Wakanda” moment.

Our people are being killed by police. Take a moment @Beyonce.
Lend a voice for the millions of Nigerians who love you.
Help us #EndPoliceBrutality@DrOlufunmilayo
