More medals have continued to flock in for Team Nigeria at the ongoing 2024 Paris Paralympics.

This is as a 40-year-old Nigerian athlete, Flora Ugwunwa, won a silver medal in women’s Javelin F54 at the ongoing Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

She finished 2nd in the event with a throw of 19.26m behind Uzbekistan athlete Nurkhon Kurbanova who set a world record with a throw of 21.12m.

The bronze medal was won by Elham Salehi of Iran who threw 16.24m.

The New Diplomat reports that this makes it her third consecutive medal at the Paralympics, with two gold medals at the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, as well as silver in Paris.

She also becomes the fourth Nigerian athlete to win a medal at the ongoing Paralympic Games.

Other athletes who have won medals for Team Nigeria are Onyinyechi Mark, Eniola Bolaji and Esther Nworgu.
