Residents of Southern Kaduna have called on state government and the center to expedite actions towards putting end to the ongoing genocidal actions, with telling effects on lives and properties of people in that part of the state or be ready to face unpleasant development in reaction.

Addressing a press conference Saturday, the President, Atyap Community Development Association (ACDA,) Zango Kataf local government area of Kaduna state, Samuel Achie recalled with pains that since 5th of this month, July 2021 when the ongoing onslaught started in the community, a total of 42 people have been killed with 338 houses burnt just as 7 people were wounded.

Similarly, 8 cars, 13 motorcycles, generators as well as food and domestic items were looted just, with places of worship including building housing clergymen’s families razed down by fire, leaving the occupants homeless.

Among such buildings which the President regrettably said were set ablaze by the dreaded “Fulani militia” included family compound of their paramount ruler, His Royal Highness, Sir Dominic Yahaya and the family compound of Rtd Maj. General Shekari Biliyock, former commandant of Nigeria African Peace Keeping Arm, the ECOOG.

“It beats our imagination that with all these happenings, no arrest has been made and none of the bandits have been killed by the military forces.” He said.

Speaking further, Archie observed that the silence of government over the atrocities in Southern Kaduna is making the residents in the area to wonder whether they are citizens of Kaduna state, as according to him, “we are yet to see any proactive step by Government to end these killings in our soil”.

Archie called on the government of Kaduna state “to without fear or favour come alive to its responsibility to put an end to the dastard and condemnable killings of its citizens and ensure that the perpetrators are fished out and brought to face the wrath of the law”, declaring “enough is enough. Looking at the casualties.”
